We are in 1945. The Second World War asola the world leaving a track of desperation and death to his step. Nevertheless, this history, it does not take place in Europe, but to thousands of kilometers, in the paradisiac island of Borneo. It is an exciting history, in which the personages are of the most eccentric: a pilots' division of the US Air Force, the local tribe of the Dayak and General Tom Harrison, one of the most eccentric British officials never had.

National Geographic Channel releases on Sunday, the 7th of March, at 21.00 hours, “Hunters of heads of the Second World war”, a documentary about one of the least explored events of the armed conflict that it had in sail to the world.
On November 16, 1944, the plane piloted by Dan Illerich who was bombarding the Japanese ships, is reached by hostile fire. The Illerich men jump in his parachute falling down in the middle of the jungle of Borneo. Nevertheless, despite the quantity of dangers that they watch in the forest, most been afraid undoubtedly it is of coming across of the Japanese troops that have occupied the island.

The tribe of the Dayak, comes first and decides to put itself of the side of the Americans. Once the Japanese find out that the native ones are protecting them, they threaten to kill the tribal chiefs. This offends terribly the Dayak that are thrown in attack. The noise of the battle provokes that the natives recover his ancestral habit of cutting the head to his enemies, rite that it finishes throwing the heads to the fire.

The anger of the japonenses has no limit and the only option for the Americans is to hide in the jungle for months. In March, 1945, Tom Harrison, General of the British Navy, throws himself in parachute in rescue of his men along with an Australian unit. The plan of Harrison, morally debatable, happens for cheering the Dayak to continue up with his ancestral customs and make use of the exhibition of heads cut like element disuasorio. Many people might think that the General committed what we might call a war crime … Nevertheless, it was decorated by the medal of honor and other distinctions. All the details of how did the North American pilots manage escaping of the island in this new documentary of National Geographic Channel.

"The women of the Holocaust", exhibition in Granada

In February, 1945, the German city of Dresden suffered the hardest blow of his history. When scarcely two weeks were remaining for the capitulation of the Germany a Nazi, more than 100.000 dead persons left the bombs and they limited the city to ash in one of the most polemic episodes of the contest. In the center of that city, on the banks of the river Elba, the exhibition was exhibited for the first time You stain of light: to be a woman in the Holocaust, that, after ending up in Vienna, Memory of Andalusia has come to Granada thanks to the Cultural center.

The sample, which will remain opened until the next May 31 from Monday until Saturdays, is a fruit of the work of the Museum of the Holocaust (Yad Vasehm) of Jerusalem, that the Prince of Asturias of the Concodia was rewarded in 2007 with the Award. It is a question of the first time that shows itself in Spain this material related to the feminine testimony of the Jews murdered by the Nazi and that tackles the subject-matter of the woman across his strategies to survive.

Across 17 multimedia projections, the visitor submerges in the human dimension of a tragedy that knows to big features, but that is enlarged on having known small details, after the pain becomes personal. As there explains the director of the Museum Yad Vashem, Judith Inbar, police station of the sample, the women who were imprisoned in the concentration camps "they took the decision not to be victims and obtained it doing that every moment was important". Compromised with the group into which they had integrated, his decisions could affect other persons, what propitiated a few rules of behavior that were different from those of the men in the same circumstances." In the exhibition it can turn how they acted in questions as important as the femininity, the feeding, the friendship, the faith, the maternity, the love, the creativity, the care of the neighbor, the everyday life or the resistance", he added Unbar, for whom the women had "a special voice" inside that big human tragedy.

More than three million women died victims of the Nazism, as told Alice Ramos, director of the Institute of Studies of the Woman of the University of Granada, which has coordinated the assembly of the exhibition in Granada. "The women, with small actions full of courage, resisted to the men. The Holocaust is an important part of the women of Europe that we cannot forget", it pronounced itself.

Since the acquaintance as "final solution" was started by the intention of ending with the Jews, the women were an essential target of the destruction, given his procreadoras role. The exhibition, which revises this extermination, ready special attention to the happened in different concentration camps, especially to the two placed in Auschwitz, the biggest of the created ones by the Nazism, in the south of Poland. The field went so far as to turn in an extracted city of the hell, or taken to him. Between 1941 and 1942, he even had band to liven up the parties of the members of the CENTURIES. In 1943, under the supervision of an official, there went so far as to be content a feminine band which quality went off from the moment in which there took her charge the director and violinist Alma Rosé, who was a niece of Gustav Mahler and a virtuous certification. During the trip by the sample there can be listened to fund some of the pieces interpreted by Rosé, which was including in his repertoire fragments of operas, waltzes of the family Strauss, the Fifth Symphony of Beethoven or the Daydreams of Schumann. «The child indicated, laughing, a recent corpse to me»

«In the vast Anglo-Saxon world there is a thing that impresses more than the end of the war in itself: that of the German concentration camps». The one that this way was expressing himself was Carlos Sentis, a special correspondent of ABC that, in 1945, when the Second World War was living through his last episodes, turned into one of the first journalists of the world in visiting the Dachau concentration camp … when there were still packed, there, thousands of moribund Polish prisoners.

The extermination field, in the outskirts of Munich, was liberated by the 20th Armored Division and the 45th Division of Infantry of the 7th Army, on April 29, 1945 and the ABC reportage was published on May 15, less than one month later, when they were still remaining there 32.000 arrested, the majority Poles, «almost all with streaky presidarios suit, peeled, with identical immense eyes at the bottom of his orbit», was telling the ABC envoy.

«The same way as we advance, it seems that we are going to enter an Exhibition or Out of Samples. It is already that partly. The samples that exist close to the entry I will see later that are the best, because, at least, they can walk without crawling and are not contagious like others that are in closed pavilions, of which, in spite of dying every day and after a week of the entry of the Americans, they cannot go out yet».

The Dachau field was inaugurated in March, 1933, a few weeks after Hitler's ascension to the power. Soon it was known like «the school of the genocide», since the first field of the Germany was a Nazi who practised the extermination, who served like model for the later fields, like the terrible Auschwitz, and who took charge of the formation of the CENTURIES.

For his barracks more than 200.000 prisoners went on to the length of 12 years that was in functioning. When You Feel it happened over there, in addition to Poles – «the most serious and private rooms» – they were heaped, in the worst conditions, «Yugoslavs, Russians, French, Czechs, Italians, Belgians, Dutches and Germans, between other nationalities.

«Although the Americans have done a meticulous cleanliness – tells the journalist – it smells quite frightfully. Garbages and all kinds of filth being burned in corners isolated from the field do not do any more that to rarefy even more the ambience».

«All that is not the important thing. Now we will enter the pavilion of the prisoners», mentioned to Sentis one of the American officials. In one of those pavilions, exclusively of Jews, «a boy with face of catch you he me smiles and, very entertaining, it indicates to me something that is in the soil, between two berths. I go there to look at it. It is a recent corpse. The child catch you he laughs with laughter on having seen my expression».

That corpse there left between the alive ones, «living bones covered with skin», was only one of 30.000 prisoners who were murdered there, according to the statistics, to that it would be necessary to add other thousands than there died victims of awful living conditions those who there were submitted.

«In the field, where all politicians are detained, there is typhus, dysentery and other illnesses, with dozens of moribund and hundreds of unburied corpses, of the 2.000 that the Americans found on having come», tells the editor, before describing as they placed all the journalists in line, before entering the facilities, to throw big quantities of dust disinfectants «D.D.T.», in addition to putting an injection of the same product.

«The madness!» It exclaimed that You feel when the American officials took him to crematory, where he could observe approximately 2.000 corpses that piled up in the gas cameras or shut up in 30 cars of the train, where they had been dying like flies, left, could not be incinerated.

«I only have seen one. That of Dachau, in the outskirts of Munich. Almost last come across of the American army. Visiting it it happened a little bit horrifyingly. Now, on the clean role where I write, I do not spend it much better», made sure the journalist.

The founder of Boy Scouts treated possible alliances with the youth hitlerianas

The secret documents disqualified by the MI5 are demonstrated that Baden-Powell was professing openly his admiration towards the ideology by Nazi and his youth movement.

The founder of Boy Scouts, lord Baden-Powell, maintained contacts with representatives of Adolf Hitler two years before the beginning of the Second World war to speak about a possible alliance between his organization and the youth hitlerianas.

As he gathers the British press, documents disqualified by the MI5, the agency of counterespionage of the United Kingdom, they indicate that the meetings between Baden-Powell and the German ambassador in London, Joachim von Ribberntrop, provoked alarm between the authorities. Coinciding with these meetings, the police had detected a sudden increase of excursions cycle tourist to the United Kingdom of the youth hitlerianas, to whose members they were indoctrinated in the anti-Semitism and were aspiring to turn into "Aryan supermen".

The informations of the press of the epoch, which was naming this young people "cycle - spy", he had to the counterespionage to be interested by his activities before the suspicion that nationals were covering the country with help of the Scouts to assemble information about the infrastructure.

'Mein Kampf', a "wonderful book"

The secret documents demonstrate that Baden-Powell was professing openly his admiration towards the ideology Nazi and his youth movement, as it left steadfastness in an internal note written after a visit in 1937 of the leading high place Hartmann Lauterbacher.

In another occasion, after having dinner with ambassador Von Ribberntrop - considered like the architect of Hitler's foreign policy - it reflected in a missive his intention of bringing both organizations over like route "to support the peace between two nations". "The (ambassador) sees to the Movement Scout - he wrote - as a powerful agency to achieve it if we can support narrow bonds with the Movement Jugend of Germany. I said to him that it was completely in favor of any measurement that was favoring the understanding between our countries".

Baden-Powell, whom Mein Kampf was considering as a "wonderful book", confirmed further on that the diplomat had invited him to travel to Berlin to support a meeting with the proper Führer.

Nevertheless, the reports of the MI5 reveal that the founder of Boy Scouts was, in fact, a victim of the double game of the Germans. While in public Von Ribberntrop was speaking enthusiastically about the British-German big alliance, privately he was already warning Hitler of to that the war with London was inevitable.

The spy Spanish Nazi who "swallowed" to the double of Montgomery

The trick to a pro-Franco control that was acting like spy of the Germany Nazi helped to confuse the Germans on the landing of Normandy. The role of captain Ignacio Molina Pérez, who "swallowed" the presence in Gibraltar of general Montgomery - in fact a double of his - has been revealed now in a more detailed way by the documents that have just disqualified the British National archives. In the sleepless reports, the secret services of the United Kingdom go so far as to him to qualify of "villain of the head to the feet".

The British intelligence was considering Molina, chief of information in the Military Government of Algeciras, a "real bigwig" between the Franco supporters who were acting of spies for the Nazi. In such a way that at once the Britons thought about him like bait to confuse the Germans on the landing of Normandy of June 6, 1944. So it was not only the Spanish Juan Pujol who, like double agent, cheated Hitler on the D-Day - in his case giving false information about the place of the landing - but another Spanish, this time without wanting it, also Nazi contributed to the adversity.

The history on the double of Montgomery was presented in the movie "I Was Monty's Double", of 1958. In her there is narrated the operation "Copperhead", in which the Australian lieutenant Meyrick Clifton was recruited to do of double of the hero of the victory of The Alamein and British person in charge for the landing of Normandy. Clifton was sent to Gibraltar on May 26 to make to see that the landing was not immediate.

Chief of the Gestapo in Algeciras The details now announced, published in «The Times«, they indicate that Molina known by the Britons like "Cosmos", was the clear target from the beginning. Molina was trying to be pro British, but the reports of the MI5 were already warning otherwise: "Molina has been decorated by the German Government in several occasions, and is proved that Molina is the principal agent in the extensive secret organization Nazi in Spain and Morocco". In 1944 he had been nominated a chief of the Gestapo in the area of Algeciras.

The day that the double of Montgomery came to way Gibraltar to the north of Africa, Molina was invited to the Rock by a high charge of the colonial Government. It was left in a room with a window from which I can see how supposed Montgomery was receiving the honors of the guard, and it later led at the entry of the building when the general was saying goodbye and getting into his car.

In accordance with the disqualified documents, Molina I cannot contain and he asked his host for the sense of the presence of the famous military man. It was answered him that Montgomery had done scale for digirse to Algiers. After coming to The Line, Nazi saw the spy doing a called phone companhy to himself. The British intelligence thought that "the material came to Berlin in 20 minutes".

Molina would embellish his history, assuring one of his confidants, in fact a spy who was working for the Britons, who there was estrechazo the hand of Montgomery and who seemed "very nice", an expression that appears in Castilian in the report. Molina was "satisfied with himself".
